Francisco Parro es Profesor Asociado de Economía en la Escuela de Negocios de la Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. Su investigación se centra en macroeconomía, mercados laborales, desigualdad y políticas públicas, con especial énfasis en cómo las fricciones de mercado afectan los salarios, la productividad y el crecimiento económico. Su trabajo combina modelos teóricos y empíricos para estudiar temas como las brechas de género, la informalidad laboral, la mala asignación de recursos, las reglas fiscales y la tributación. Su investigación ha sido publicada en destacadas revistas internacionales, entre ellas Journal of Macroeconomics, Economica, Economic Inquiry, Scandinavian Journal of Economics, Macroeconomic Dynamics, Journal of Human Capital y Health Economics. El profesor Parro ha sido Asesor Senior y Jefe de la División de Asuntos Laborales en el Ministerio de Hacienda de Chile y es consultor frecuente de organismos internacionales como el Banco Mundial, el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo y la OCDE. Obtuvo su doctorado (Ph.D.) en Economía en la Universidad de Chicago.
Francisco Parro is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Adolfo Ibáñez School of Business. His research focuses on macroeconomics, labor markets, inequality, and public policy, with particular emphasis on how market frictions affect wages, productivity, and economic growth. His work combines theoretical and empirical models to study topics such as gender gaps, labor informality, misallocation, fiscal rules, and taxation. His research has been published in leading international journals, including the Journal of Macroeconomics, Economica, Economic Inquiry, Scandinavian Journal of Economics, Macroeconomic Dynamics, Journal of Human Capital, and Health Economics. Professor Parro has served as Senior Advisor and Head of Labor Affairs at the Chilean Ministry of Finance and is a frequent consultant to international organizations such as the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the OECD. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago.
