Jorge Pereira obtuvo su Doctorado en Ingeniería Industrial por la Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña, España en 2004. En la misma casa de estudios ejerció como investigador y luego como académico hasta el 2014. Desde 2015 es profesor asociado en la Facultad de Ingeniería y Ciencias de la Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, donde dicta cursos de gestión de operaciones y optimización a nivel de pregrado, Magíster y Doctorado. Su investigación se centra en el desarrollo de algoritmos de optimización para la resolución de problemas de planificación logística y gestión de la producción.
