Bernardo González Ojeda comenzó su carrera profesional en la Universidad de Chile, donde obtuvo su título de bioquímico (1983). Posteriormente, cursó un Ph.D. en Ciencias Biológicas (1988), con especialización en Biología Celular, en la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC). 

Su trayectoria académica se ha caracterizado por una serie de cargos relevantes en la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, donde desempeñó roles como profesor auxiliar, profesor asociado y titular y, jefe de Departamento, dejando un legado relevante en dicha institución. Desde 2009, es profesor titular de la Facultad de Ingeniería y Ciencias de la Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (UAI) y, recientemente, director de Investigación y Postgrados Académicos de dicha facultad.  

Bernardo ha sido reconocido por sus contribuciones académicas con diversos premios y becas, sus numerosas publicaciones y formación de doctorantes, incluyendo además, su papel como investigador principal en el Center of Applied Ecology and Sustainability (CAPES). Su experiencia docente abarca una amplia gama de cursos en pregrado, desde Ciencia y Biología hasta Química y Bioprocesos, donde ha impactado en la formación de numerosos estudiantes a lo largo de los años. 

Además de su labor académica, ha sido un miembro activo en varios comités y comisiones de la Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, demostrando su compromiso con el desarrollo institucional y la excelencia académica.  

Bernardo se caracteriza por su pasión por comprender la complejidad de la naturaleza y su deseo de contribuir al bienestar de la sociedad a través de la investigación y la enseñanza. Para él, la mayor enseñanza proviene del contacto con los estudiantes, quienes constantemente lo desafían a replantearse preguntas y problemas desde diversas perspectivas, enriqueciendo así su propia práctica como docente e investigador.
