RESUMEN

Su área de investigación principal es la Ecología Evolutiva con énfasis en el estudio de los efectos de los cambios ambientales (i.e. calentamiento global y acidificación del océano) en los rasgos ecofisiológicos y de historia de vida en organismos terrestres y marinos. Autor de más de 60 publicaciones en revistas de corriente principal (ISI) y varios capítulos de libro. Ha obtenido proyectos nacionales e internacionales, ya sea en forma individual o en colaboración. Es Past-President de la Sociedad de Ecología de Chile.

Su grupo de investigación forma parte del departamento de Ciencias de la Facultad de Artes Liberales y se suma al Laboratorio de Bioingeniería de la Facultad de Ingeniería y Ciencias de la UAI.

Para pregrado imparte los cursos de Ciencias I y II. En postgrado participa en el Master en Sciences y en el Doctorado en Ingeniería en Sistemas Complejos.

Sus principales proyectos de investigación son: Núcleo Milenio NC 1200286 (MINECOM) “Center for the study of multiple-drivers on marine socio-ecological systems (MUSELS)” (2013 - 2016) y  FONDECYT Regular 1140092: “Determinants of marine biogeographic breaks: the underestimated relevance of pH variation"(2014 - 2018).
