About the Center

The Faculty of Humanities of the Adolfo Ibáñez University has decided to launch a Center of Latin American Studies for Foreign Students that caters for the many universities with which we have subscribed cooperation agreements, and where a growing interest has been identified with regards to Spanish-language learning and acquaintance with our culture.

This initiative is warranted by our certainty that Chile is an eminently suitable destination for this kind of studies. Political stability, beautiful cities, friendly people, and a rich cultural tradition concur to make Chile an excellent environment for foreign students to learn Spanish and Latin American culture. Furthermore, our University’s long-standing reputation ensures the highest standard of teaching in these subject areas.

The distinctive feature of our program, however, is the opportunities it affords for students to become actively involved, both individually an as a group, in projects of community development in areas such as education, health care, environmental protection, etc. Moreover, our course programs contemplate frequent field trips to other regions. Students that take part in our programs will thus acquire an in-depth knowledge of Chilean reality that trascends the merely academic.
